Aims

Formed in 1999, we hope to preserve and improve wildlife habitat
The general aim of the Friends of Hoddles Creek is to preserve and improve wildlife habitat in the Hoddles Creek area.

The specific aims of the group are:

  • To raise awareness in our community about wildlife, habitat, and conservation issues;
  • To undertake environmental remediation work in selected areas of public land in the Hoddles Creek area;
  • To share knowledge and network within the group, with neighbours, and with the local community, to improve the habitat and natural environment of our own properties and surrounding areas;
  • To determine and implement actions needed to redress any adverse environment impacts identified
  • To identify native flora and fauna existing in the area and document changes over time;
  • To monitor the spread of weeks, feral animals and agricultural chemicals in the area;
  • To develop a seed bank and nursery for indigenous species for use in regeneration areas
  • To support work of the group by seeking grants and undertaking fundraising activities
